The Pitchfest is for startup teams
Bufficorn Ventures’ Buffitank Pitchfest returns for its second year; this time, we’re expanding our horizons. We spotlight the broader ETHDenver ecosystem’s most groundbreaking and innovative early-stage startups. ETHDenver’s Pitchfest will take place on Sunday, March 2, 2025. BV’s Buffitank Pitchfest provides a space for the many teams who have already organized themselves and are looking for investment, customers, and exposure. Ideally, teams already have a close connection to the ETHDenver/SporkDAO community.
The Pitchfest is for startup teams, not those participating in the ETHDenver Buidlathon – they already have a spotlight. Our top 10 teams will present to some of our favorite VCs and community members on the main stage and compete for bragging rights, invitations to join BV and other cohorts, and funding.

Judging Criteria
Business Viability
Does the revenue model effectively support the proposed business
Wow Factor
Does the offering impress users with a seamless or impressive enough interface
Onboarding non-natives
Does this enable non-web3 users to leverage the technology without understanding the details of the technology or managing a wallet?
Moving The Needle
Does the team change the way an existing businesses operate to the point that they will lose users/ customers to this approach

At the Buffitank Pitchfest stage, startups will showcase their latest ideas in blockchain with a preferred focus on teams who:
- Are not issuing tokens as a means of fundraising.
- Have identified a sustainable model.
- Leverage Web3 / Blockchain technology in a way that displaces conventional businesses.
- Bring the next billion users into Web3 (or maybe 100 million).
- Leverage digital identity for IRL and online activities.
The Buffitank Pitchfest celebration is a prime occasion to marvel at the exceptional talent within our ecosystem.
For startups eager to throw their hat in the ring, Buffitank Pitchfest offers an “open call.” However, please be aware that to apply, you must be a member of SporkDAO. It’s essential to note that your startup risks forfeiture under specific conditions such as:
- Submitting the same product or service submissions, such as two people from the same company applying.
- Neglecting, rescheduling, or being late (1 minute) for set meetings.
- Providing misleading submission details.
2025 Buffitank Pitchfest Application
Buffitank Pitchfest is a featured startup showcase event that has an open call for startups to apply for the chance to participate at ETHDenver. Review the eligibility checkpoints and categories before you submit your application. Be sure to subscribe to the ETHDenver Deadline Calendar so you don't miss any deadlines.
Eligibility Checkpoints
SporkDAO Membership: Startup founders must be active members in SporkDAO. Membership status will be reviewed prior to any invitation letters sent to participate in Buffitank Pitchfest
Number of Submissions: One submission per startup. Multiple entries risk eligibility. Please make sure you are in communication with your team about who has submitted.
Company Formation: The startup must have its inception on or after January 1, 2023. Startups should be legally registered and compliant with all regulations and laws in their respective jurisdictions. Not providing this information could make you ineligible.
Company Ownership: The founding members of the company must maintain majority control of the company during the application process, during ETHDenver 2025, and will contractually sign an agreement that there are no discussions about an acquisition.
Investment Restrictions: The company must not have raised over five (5) million US dollars in funding from combined funding sources.
Demonstrable Technology: Your product and/or service must be a viable product based on working technology. Startups who submit projects that are still just a working idea will be automatically disqualified.
We encourage student-led startups that are embedding blockchain. Student members of the startup team must present at Buffitank Pitchfest if selected, as well, must be enrolled at a college, university, or high school during the ETHDenver 2025 Buffitank Pitchfest.
